Flavor Spur Brisket Roast


1 Genuine Texas Angus Beef™ Brisket, 7 to 8 lbs
2 pkgs onion soup mix
1-1/2 cups water
1 cup ketchup
2 tsp garlic powder
2 tsp parsley
1 tsp black pepper


Preheat oven to 325°F. Blend soup mix, water, ketchup, garlic powder, parsley and pepper. Place in 13x9-inch baking or roasting pan. Add brisket, turning to coat with soup mixture. Loosely cover with aluminum foil and roast 7 to 8 hours or until brisket is tender and reaches an internal temperature of at least 145°F for medium-rare. Thicken gravy, if desired.
